Expert community
How we verify our experts
Quality and transparency are the foundation of the directory. Every professional listed goes through this process, and every review is tied to the exact part that was reviewed.
1. We check credentials
We check the degree or licence in the country’s official register when it is public; otherwise against the supporting document, which is stored privately.
2. We confirm identity
We confirm that the person is who they say they are and controls the website and profiles they link to.
3. We ask for a declaration of interests
Each expert declares any relationship with brands, laboratories or products. It is published on their profile; if there is none, we say so.
4. Publication and follow-up
The profile is published with their consent and the date of the last check. If anything changes, the profile is checked again.
Verification levels
Badges always come with text. Only levels 2 to 5 appear in the directory; a pending profile is not public.
| Level | What has been checked | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| Identity verified | Identity and channels (website, social media) | Suggest corrections |
| Credential verified | Degree or licence in an official register | Review the parts within their specialty |
| Active reviewer | At least 5 accepted reviews | Sign reviews on entries |
| Senior reviewer | A solid track record and proven judgement | Review sensitive changes and other reviewers |
Badges that are not levels
- Founding expert Part of the encyclopedia’s invitation-only group of founding experts.
- Methodology auditor Commissioned to audit the site’s evidence system.
- Editorial team Member of the educacionsexual.org team.
What each specialty reviews
Each entry is split into parts. An expert only sees and signs the parts within their specialty, in their language.
| Parts reviewed | Specialty |
|---|---|
| Description, steps and variations | Sex education |
| Load, support and mobility | Pelvic physiotherapy · Rehabilitation and mobility |
| Pelvic floor and pain | Pelvic physiotherapy · Gynaecology · Sexual medicine |
| Anatomy and evidence | Sexual medicine · Gynaecology · Urology and andrology · Research |
| Specific safety | Urology and andrology · Sexual medicine |
| Pregnancy | Obstetrics and midwifery · Pelvic physiotherapy |
| Well-being and communication | Psychology and clinical sexology |
| Language | A clinical or language reviewer for that language |
What a signature means
A signature means that this person reviewed that part, in that language and that version, and approved it as it was or with adjustments. It lapses if the part changes. Each entry shows at most three clinical experts per language, plus the editorial review.
What we never do
We never charge to be listed or to move up a level. We never publish invented profiles, photos or figures. We never show the expert’s email: messages are forwarded and not stored on the site.
Our goal is to offer rigorous, independent and useful content, built with professionals committed to sexual health and education.
